It's incredibly simple to start a blog these days.

However, as a beginner blogger, generating blog traffic that converts can be difficult.

With so many different traffic methods available online, it can be difficult to keep track of them all. Before establishing a blog, there are a lot of things a new blogger should know!

Don't worry your precious little head if your blog entries are collecting dust on the shelves of the blogging stratosphere because you've tried every free blogging approach there is. Because I've listed some of my finest traffic-building strategies for you, which will certainly double your blog's traffic in 2021.

What type of traffic should you be aiming for?

It's not a good idea to focus just on generating useless traffic.

You should strive for traffic that results in clicks, sales, commissions, and subscriptions.

People who come to your website must do one of three things: subscribe to your email list, buy a product for which you are an affiliate, or share your content.

You will receive more conversions if you plan your blog content ahead of time and create intentional content that directly motivates users to take action.

So, let's get to some tactics that you can use right away to boost your blog traffic.

Get the Fundamentals Right

1. Narrow down your niche

Google places your blog in a sandbox for a period of time before ranking your material. That's why, for most new bloggers, it takes at least 6-9 months for their content to start ranking.

It keeps an eye on you as you type.

Every post that has led up to that point has been scrutinized.

If you create 35 posts about dogs, Google will recognize your blog as a pet blog and will rank you for pet-related search terms.

Seo-google-ranking.jpg

They would prefer you to someone who has:

  • 10 dog-related posts
  • 10 fashion-related posts
  • 20 articles on how to earn money

Why?

Because they know you're passionate about this topic and want to be an authority in it.

Choosing a specialization not only aids in ranking but also in putting you on the map.

2. Use a good and reliable theme

What qualities should a good theme possess?

  • Is incredibly adaptable
  • mobile-friendly
  • The solid support structure allows Google to crawl your site.
  • SEO friendly

If you're using WordPress and want something that's highly configurable and drag-and-drop, Divi is the way to go. This is quite simple to use and offers a large range of choices and settings. It is a firm favorite among most bloggers.

3. Good Keyword Strategy

Okay, you're pretty much set for success if you have a solid theme and a successful blog niche.

Now comes the part that most people despise: search engine optimization (SEO).

Once you get the hang of it, SEO isn't difficult. It becomes second nature and becomes a habit.

Most people, on the other hand, assume it will be really difficult and put it off for a year or two. Backtracking and implementing SEO becomes extremely tough as a result of this.

Now, although there is a lot to learn about SEO, take it slowly and one step at a time.

Because you're a beginner blogger, you could not make it to the main page if you target a term like "chocolate cake."

Google doesn't trust you.

No one does.

Because it's lengthier and there's less competition, a term like "chocolate cake gluten-free" may have a greater chance of ranking.

But how do you go about searching for keywords?

Enter your competitor's name into Ubersuggest to discover the keywords they rank for on the first page (which is position 1-10) Make sure your opponent has a domain authority that is similar to yours so that you can compete with them.

Repeat this process for a total of five further competitors.

In an excel sheet, keep track of the keywords.

And write posts that are better than theirs.

Once you've beaten the competition and ranked for keywords in one niche, it'll be a breeze to rank for posts with more competitive keywords.

Creating mind-blowing content:

4. Write for your target audience

You can plan your content faster than the speed of light once you know who you're writing for.

Your website should be simple to attract customers.

That's because you're inside your reader's thoughts and understand their concerns.

Every piece of material you publish will yield a spectacular effect on your blog. It should also help you move closer to your objective. Weekly writing for your target audience will help you fast improve your blog traffic!

5. Write a post on trending topics

This is an easy way to increase your blog's traffic. Writing blogs on popular subjects in your niche is an excellent method to acquire blog traffic when you're first starting out.

You can stay up with the current trends by being active on Instagram, following Twitter Chats, or looking up Google Trends.

However, make sure the trending issue is evergreen in nature, meaning it will continue to be important in the future.

A post titled "The Best Skincare Routine for Dry Skin" will receive more long-term traffic than "Kylie Jenner's New Skin-Care Line."

If you were writing a food blog, you'd want to include vegan and keto dishes since they're all the rage right now, and I've seen them everywhere.

You can't go wrong by picking themes that people can't get enough of and putting your own spin on them.

6. Pay attention to Search intent

The first page of Google featured just list posts when I was creating this post and performing research for the phrase "how to get more blog traffic."

There are no tutorials. So, what does this mean?

It suggests that for this particular term, people prefer list postings to large tutorials or how-tos.

As a result, I created a keyword list post.

When conducting keyword research, keep this in mind.

7. Write more How-to and List posts

Take a step back and think about what kinds of questions you ask Google every time you have a question. So, how does it sound?

Isn't this how it almost always looks?

"How do I..."

or

"How to..."

People are continuously looking for tutorials to learn new things, as you can see! So, join the group and begin writing additional tutorials! Because they are detailed and teach readers how to accomplish something, tutorial posts attract a lot of attention.

Do your homework and divide down your posts into manageable chunks. Go all out and offer a tonne of photos and screenshots.

List posts are extremely simple to read and receive significantly more traffic than other types of posts.

As a result, including several of these will almost certainly increase traffic to your posts.

8. Spend a lot more time crafting headlines

What good is it to spend 10 hours writing a blog post and only 5 minutes writing a crappy title that no one would click?

What a waste of time and energy!

Spend at least 30 minutes brainstorming a range of interesting titles that will attract you to click on the blog post. Change things up a bit.

Make an effort to elicit an emotion, such as curiosity, envy, happiness, or rage.

Before choosing one for my post, I spend about 30 minutes brainstorming 10-15 names. I use the rest as Pinterest titles.

Negative titles also attract attention.

Consider the following example:

Increasing blog engagement by formatting your content

9. Create long-form content

This one should go without saying. And it's also why all of my blog posts are 2000 words or longer. Some have even crossed the 5K wordmark.

Now, the blog post you're reading is well over 5,000 words long.

Quality, in my opinion, always triumphs over quantity.

The former will bring you more traffic than the latter if you publish one 2000+ word blog post per week instead of five 300+ word blog posts each week.

Continuous traffic.

Quality takes precedence over quantity. Keep that in mind.

Long-form content is more likely to become viral and receive more shares! So, instead of the usual 150-300 word blogs, put one foot in front of the herd and write a 1500+ word piece.

I get irritated every time I'm doing research and come across a blog article that's less than 300 words long.

Not only does it fail to offer all of the information I require, but it is also unsatisfactory and a waste of time.

It's the equivalent of taking one mouthful of a delicious chocolate cake and then stopping.

You will increase your bounce rate and not receive traffic that converts if you write brief pieces that do not totally help the visitor solve the problem.

With each post you write, you must strive to impress the reader. They should be left moaning in pain to get more.

By the time they finish reading your post, they should be enamored with your writing and have almost no doubts.

This implies they'll return to your blog to read more and more of your content, lowering your bounce rate.

10. Make your content as visually appealing as possible.

Every day, more than 2 million blog postings are published. To get recognized, you'll need to step up your game and stand out!

We live in a very visual world.

Long gone are the days when people enjoyed reading lengthy texts.

Now, if you publish a 1000-word blog post without any images, your readers will either fall asleep on their tablet or think you're from the 1800s.

That's why, if you want your readers to be more engaged, you need to spice up every post you make. Add a photo after every 250-300 words to liven up your postings.

Note:

By employing photographs from Google Search, you can ensure you're not using someone else's work. You can use Freepic and Unsplash stock photographs and give credit to the artists if feasible.

Increase web traffic with a few content hacks

11. Republish and update popular posts

Create an account with Google Analytics if you don't already have it.

To see your most popular posts, go to your dashboard and select Behavior>Site Content>All posts.

Take advantage of this list. Brush up on those postings and see if you can spice them up and add more pictures to add extra points or make them more meaningful.

Then, modify the date to today's date and republish the article.

Make sure you don't modify the URL, or else you'll have a broken link.

This shows Google that you're continually upgrading your website's content. Google will give your post a higher ranking if it is relevant and updated frequently.

12. Include infographics in your blog posts

Infographics are quite popular on Pinterest and aren't difficult to create.

They also assist you in obtaining numerous backlinks to your blog.

What are the benefits of backlinks?

  • It's one of Google's three primary ranking variables for determining how genuine your website is.
  • Backlinks from sites with a higher domain authority notify Google that your site is highly relevant and authoritative in your field. This improves your domain authority as well as your search engine rankings.

In addition, big businesses enjoy using infographics on their websites. If they use yours, you can request a backlink that credits you as the infographic's source.

Using Canva's pre-made Infographic templates, creating an infographic is a snap.

You can also use Photoshop to build your Infographics if you are familiar with graphic design.

13. Create a series of blog posts

A blog series not only helps you establish your authority but also helps you generate buzz for a product you might want to advertise, such as a course or an eBook.

Take, for example, any issue in your field.

Isn't it true that one post won't cover everything you want to cover in that subject?

As a result, you should divide it into 5-10 blog posts. Then, using internal links, tie all of the blog entries together.

You begin with a post that serves as an introduction. It can be lengthy, but it must include links to all of the previous posts in your series. When you add a new post to your series, all you have to do is update the pillar post

This is a great way to increase traffic and lower your bounce rate.

Assume you're writing a blog series about how to become a full-time artist.

The following is an example of a blog post series:

  • When you're on a budget, how do you pick a drawing class?
  • From the ground up, how to become an illustrator
  • Where to locate top-quality art materials when buying in bulk!
  • Three things to consider before purchasing a sketchbook
  • When creating an online portfolio, avoid these blunders.
  • Domestika Passive Income Ideas for Artists: How to Create Your Own Art Course!

Many people who are interested in painting will be looking for low-cost supplies, and eventually, they will want to make money with their work, so by include posts that forecast the next step, you are assisting your readers in fully comprehending the topic.

This increases traffic since readers are more likely to click on related titles, which leads to the next relevant content, and so on.

You accomplish three things by producing in-depth blogs in your proven earning niche:

  • You're establishing yourself as an art expert, which will lead to an increase in email subscribers and brand exposure.
  • Because you've just written 10 posts on art-related topics in a row, search engines will recognize you're blogging about art and will automatically promote your posts.
  • You'll make more money if you blog.

It takes a lot of work to write a blog series, but the attention you get is well worth it. It will continue to flow in for years to come.

Boost your blog traffic with SEO

14. Pay attention to keywords

Although I mentioned that from the outset, SEO is really crucial. If you disregard it, your blog will not receive traffic that converts.

You must master basic SEO as a blogger. You should begin by installing the Yoast SEO plugin. I simply use it to assist me in writing the meta-description and slug. Always conduct keyword research before beginning to write a blog post.

There are plenty of ways to do Basic SEO:

  • Divide your article into sections. The key to success is organization. Throughout the article, use numerous H2 and H3 headers.
  • In your headers, use keywords. It is really helpful in informing Google about the topic of your post.
  • When you use Google to look for your main keyword, you'll see "People also ask" inquiries on the front page. Answer these questions in your content so that Google recognizes how thorough it is.

Make sure each image's alt tag is SEO-friendly and includes keywords.

Have one external link that is linked to your keyword (but not your keyword) that links to many blog posts.

15. LSI Technique

The acronym LSI stands for Latent Semantic Indexing.

Essentially, synonyms are keywords that are connected to the main term you are employing.

For example, if your blog article's major keyword is "pencil," and you use phrases like "paper," "drawing," "sketching," "graphite," and so on, Google will know that your content isn't spamming and is really about drawing and art.

This is really useful when producing blog posts and will actually help your posts rank better.

16. Interlink your Blog posts

Always strive to connect to relevant posts in your blog when creating a blog post.

Keep in mind that when someone visits your blog, they are entering unfamiliar territory. They're new to your blog and are reading it for the first time. And they might not have the patience to go to your Blog directory and look through the archives to find what they're looking for.

As a result, strive to interlink postings within each one you create.

17. Update Image Descriptions

This is a typical blunder I see a lot of bloggers make. Don't use the filename image123.jpeg for your images. It's a huge waste.

It needs to be relevant to the blog topic. It should ideally incorporate related keywords.

Additionally, every image's alt tag should be updated. Also include keywords in your alt tags!

Simple social media tips to Grow your Blog

18. Provide Social share buttons

I can't tell you how many times I've come across a great post (that I wanted to share with my audience) only to find no share buttons.

This is a complete turn-off.

( You can find mine at the End of this blog post to share )

Social-sharing-buttons-screenshot.jpg

No one has time to manually copy and paste blog URLs into their social media accounts.

Our blogs, like the rest of the world, should evolve as well.

19. Add click-to-tweets

To get people to interact with and share your content, you need to be relatable and make it simple for them to do so.

Every blog post should have at least two or three click-to-tweet buttons.

Simply visit www.clicktotweet.com and sign in with your Twitter handle.

Now all you have to do is come up with a very relatable one-liner from your blog content that will encourage your readers to share it.

Example

<< Click here to Tweet this post >>

Generate a link and post it in your blog post. All done!

20. Use Tailwind

This is a great way to increase your traffic.

Instead of wasting 2-3 hours a day manually pinning, I just schedule all of my pins a week ahead of time in 30 minutes.

Tailwind is an intelligent queuing system. It assesses how well your posts perform on Pinterest and determines when your target audience is most active. It then recommends suitable time slots for you to use.

Isn't it cool?

So, while you may believe I'm pinning on Pinterest at 2 a.m., Tailwind is actually doing all the work for me as I sleep like a baby.

Even better, Tailwind offers a free trial.

21. Use Pinterest to get Traffic

In 2020, Pinterest implemented significant algorithm adjustments, which have resulted in a drop in clicks and reach for blogs all across the world. People are now making many pins per day and working hard to increase their traffic.

You'll notice an increase in your Pageviews if you stick with it.

Networking with other bloggers

22. Comment on blogs similar to your niche

You can't expect to always create wonderful pieces and have a large following without reciprocating some of the love.

Find 5 blogs in your niche that you enjoy reading. And you should follow them. Leave useful comments or strike up a dialogue in their comment threads.

This will not only assist you in identifying prevalent trends in your sector but will also pique the interest of other commenters. As a result, the more you remark, the more your name is exposed.

As a result, you'll be able to raise brand recognition. As a result, you'll get more comments on your site.

Getting over my social phobia and putting myself out there was extremely challenging for me. However, I'm pleased I did.

Because I enjoy interacting with other bloggers in my field.

23. Guest Post

Not only is guest blogging a great way to meet and interact with other bloggers in your industry, but it also provides you with the potential to gain backlinks to your site!

When guest blogging, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Guest post on blogs that are relevant to your niche. Don't guest blog on a creativity blog if you're a food blogger. People that visit your website via that blog will be perplexed and leave. It also doesn't help you gain Google authority.
  • Please be courteous and follow the guest blogging guidelines. Before sending a request, do your homework and offer plenty of examples of past guest blog pieces you've authored. Also, provide suggestions for titles to make it easier for the Host to respond.

Starting guest posting 6-12 months after starting a blog is a fantastic option if you want to grow your audience.

24. Engage in Facebook groups

Become a member of at least two Facebook groups. Also, take an active role in discussions and threads. You don't have to constantly market your blog; simply be helpful and strive to solve difficulties for others.

Don't spam groups with your blog postings, I can't emphasize this enough. Simply be extremely friendly and helpful. It goes a long way – not only in terms of raising exposure for your blog but also in terms of attracting clicks and clients.

A Friendly Reminder:

Remember to update your Facebook profile and provide a link to your blog. People should not be directed to a dead end if they visit your profile out of curiosity.

Using Email Marketing software

25. Start an Email list

This is a basic principle of a funnel system

What's more, what's the nicest thing about a sales funnel?

It's entirely automatic.

When someone clicks on a link to my product in one of my emails, they are instantly classified as potential purchasers.

And this offers me the opportunity to market to them in the future. Start building your email list using the Convert kit

Take the CONVERT KIT Free trial

26. Have an objective for every email you send out

Ask yourself, "What is the goal of this email I'm putting out?" before you sit down to create a newsletter.

It should never be more than one of the objectives listed below:

  1. Increasing brand exposure or simply staying in touch
  2. Notifying your readers that a new post has been published.
  3. Getting the word out about a new product you've developed.
  4. Giving them a weekly tip and establishing trust and demonstrating your expertise.
  5. Promoting a commission/sale.
  6. Getting them to do a specific action – such as filling out a survey or following a specific social media account, etc

In general, you only want to meet one or two of the following criteria. Because attempting to achieve more than two goals will just confuse your readers and accomplish nothing.

This is the most common error that inhibits bloggers from making money from their blogs.

Best Blogging Techniques for Increasing Blog Traffic

27. Maintain a regular blogging schedule

Aim to write at least one post per week.

This not only gives your subscribers something to look forward to, but it also informs Google that your website is being updated regularly, which helps you rank higher in search results.

Additionally, blogging regularly will aid in the growth of your blog's traffic.

I've seen that when I'm consistent, my traffic increases more than when I'm not.

28. Batch your tasks to save time

I spent the first day of the month planning, which means I made a to-do list of all my blogging goals before breaking each one down into concrete tasks. This allows me to quickly determine which jobs are quick and which will take longer.

These actionable activities were then put out across my calendar.

I normally spend the first two days of each month making monthly pins. This allows me to concentrate solely on blog material and promotion for the entire month.

I create my newsletters ahead of time because I know what posts I'll be writing throughout the quarter.

And knowing what I'm going to do each day helps me save a lot of time. Give it a shot. It's by far the most successful method I've used to double my blogging productivity.

29. Constantly look for blog traffic tips

Blogging, as I previously stated, is a never-ending learning process.

And SEO evolves daily. You must stay current by researching marketing and blogging tactics regularly.

30. Make sure your blog loads quickly

This means that your blog should load in a matter of seconds. Many times, I've seen an intriguing blog title and clicked on it only to discover that it takes an eternity to load!

And then, frustrated, I go back and click on another title.

Keep in mind that blogging has become extremely competitive. As a result, select a good and dependable hosting service. If you're a seasoned blogger looking to step up your game, reseller club is the way to go.

It's quick. It's dependable, and it's been tailored to load WordPress websites quickly.

And their customer service is fantastic!

31. Make sure your design is free of flaws.

At all times, keep 3-5 blogs as your Role Model blogs.

  • Examine their layout.
  • Take a look at the fonts they're using.
  • Examine the widgets they employ.

Also, put everything you've learned into practice.

In addition, sans serif fonts are superior to serif fonts. They're easier to read. Also, instead of jet black, go for dark grey. It isn't as hard on the eyes.

If you're undecided, go with a simpler and cleaner look.

Keep in mind that little is more.

Being a blogger entails constantly striving to stay one step ahead of the competition. You must maintain a fresh, clean, and user-friendly web design.

So get rid of the odd fonts and colors. Also, stick to something consistent and consistent with your branding.

32. Remove all sources of distraction from your blog.

No one wants to see a calendar or tags on your site. It's quite distracting and only adds to the clutter on your website.

Remember how I claimed that less is more earlier?

We bloggers thought it was hip to have many plugins clogging up our sidebars and footers in the 1990s and early 2000s. We'd even put up badges and other adornments!

It's now deemed ridiculous because it slows down your website and causes a lot of distractions for your visitors.

Approximately 60% of your viewers access your site via their mobile devices. This implies that until visitors scroll to the bottom, they may not see the sidebar or footer.

So keep it simple.

33. Continue to experiment with new methods for increasing blog traffic.

Are you still with me?

Okay, I understand that this has been a long and exhausting list. However, running a blog necessitates testing out new strategies regularly.

Don't just follow the advice and hope for the best.

Check out what's working and what's not.

Compare your Google Analytics data to evaluate if your blog traffic increases after using a new strategy. Do your homework.

Also, don't be hesitant to put money into your blog. In this piece, I discuss how much time and money you should devote to your blog.

With that, we've reached the end of this incredibly long blog entry.

I realize I've covered a lot of ground.

You can save this post or pin this image to come back to it later, and if you liked it, do share it with the world.

Finally, which suggestion caught your interest and one you intend to implement right away?

Please let me know in the comments section below!
